Weekly News

What’s Happening?

Reading: I will be conducting my reading assessments this week. The students will also be taking the STAR assessment on the computers. Copies of these assessments will be coming home with progress reports on the 4th.

AR: I am really encouraging students to read AR books on their own, if they are not doing so already! The students can have parent help with certain words, but I would like the kinders to do the majority of the reading.

Math: This week, the students will compare the length and height of two different objects. They will learn the terms “shorter” and “longer”.

Religion: In religion, we will discuss “good choices” and the students will learn about the Ten Commandments, which are God’s rules for us.

Social Studies:  The students and I will continue learning about U.S. Symbols. The kinders will be making a scrapbook of some of the symbols of our country, i.e., The Statue of Liberty, The Liberty Bell, The Bald Eagle, The American Flag, and The White House.
